My passion for using data to solve challenging problems stems from my natural interest in the subject and the continual development of my competence as a craftsman. Curiosity, sharp technique, and a little artistry go a long way. I truly love what I do, and if you work with me, you will see that this love translates to quality every time.
What do I do? I solve problems at the intersection of what are typically called Data Science and Data Engineering. I simply find that most problems require some mix of the two, and I’m ok with that.
I am a former Structural Engineer turned Data person. In my previous professional life, I designed bridges. I suppose I still do, in a way.
Occasionally (well, often), I’ll write about non-Data things like Faith, or how Faith bears on your professional life. I hope this site is a helpful tool to deepen your understanding of the world, and perhaps gain a new point of view. Then again, not everyone even cares to do that, but if that’s you, I think you’ll find some things to like here.
